Hit the road on nz’s most caravan friendly road trip

Holidaying with a caravan is a right of passage for New Zealanders and overseas visitors (when we can welcome them to visit us again).

However, it is often difficult for travellers to find places that are caravan friendly.

There’s nothing worse than arriving at a destination only to realise there’s nowhere to park or stay for the night.

This is a problem that Mike ‘Mopar’ Walters from Caravans & Classics is determined to fix… and he’s taking the ‘long way around’ to do so.

Mopar is making sure Kiwis who are holidaying by caravan can do so with ease and comfort by mapping out the country’s most caravan-friendly road trip.

Starting from Auckland, heading up North to Cape Reinga then travelling down to Stewart Island before returning to Auckland, Mopar is seeking out every single caravan friendly destination.

From caravan friendly cafes and pubs to attractions and holiday parks, Mopar will be adding every venue to his online directory at https://www.caravansandclassics.co.nz/.

He’ll be uploading photos and videos to the Caravan Friendly Road Trip Facebook page along the way so followers can get the best tips about where to eat, where to stay, where to find spare parts and even which locations allow pets.

“It’s about time there was a central source of information for all things caravan-related in New Zealand,” says Mopar. “I’m looking forward to meeting business owners who are excited to open their doors to ‘caravanners’ from near and far so I can showcase what they have to offer to a national collective of holiday-makers.”

Business owners who would like to receive a visit during Mopar’s caravan-friendly road trip can contact him to be added to his directory. “If you’re happy for me to pull up in my own ‘76 Sprite Project Pop Top, I’ll be excited to start sharing your details with my followers,” he says.
